Did you know that there are around 700 different types of bacteria living inside most cars? With that said, it is safe to say that learning how to keep your car clean is important. If you currently have a disaster inside your car and you are feeling overwhelmed we are here to help make it a bit easier.

Keep reading to learn a few hacks that you want to keep in mind to avoid your car’s interior from getting out of control again.

1. Trash Can

Instead of letting all the garbage accumulate on the floor or on the door sides, buy a plastic cereal container from your local dollar store or Amazon and line it with a bag to use as a trash can. Whether you are going on a long road trip or running errands with the kids, everyone can do their part and use this handy trash can to corral all of the garbage.

2. Caddies

Invest in a few small caddies to make trips to fast food restaurants a bit less messy. You can have a caddy for each child to put their drink, fries, chips, burgers, etc. This is a great way to keep crumbs and spills to a minimum.

3. Swiffer Dusters

Do you normally notice all the dust on your dashboard when you are driving and the sunlight hits the dash just right? This is the perfect time to clean all of the dust but usually, we do not have anything on hand and we end up forgetting about it. This is where a Swiffer duster will come in handy.

You can store it on the side panel of your door and whip it out anytime you notice dust instead of waiting for later and forgetting all about it.

4. Cup Holders

Cup holder areas tend to get dusty, dirty, and full of grime after some time. After you give them a nice deep clean put a silicone cupcake liner in each holder. This will accumulate all the dirt and grime and after some time you can either throw them away or wash and reuse.

If you are having a hard time cleaning the cup holder you can use an old sock over a cup and spray it with an all-purpose cleaner. Then rub it around the cup holder to pick up the little pieces of dirt that the vacuum can’t get to around the edges.

5. Headlights

When you are driving at nighttime your headlights should brighten up the street for you to see. If you notice that they look dim, yellow, or foggy then it is time to clean them with some toothpaste. Use a rag to spread the toothpaste and then use clean water to rinse it off.

You want to make sure that you are aware of the paint area around the headlights. In that area, you can use the best auto paint protection to keep your exterior looking as fresh as your inside.
