During a five-week period from May 28 through July 6, Valley-based Tilted Kilt raised more than $17,000 for the Folds of Honor Foundation through the sale of paper Dog Tags in all Tilted Kilt locations nation-wide. Tilted Kilt’s partner with this promotion, Anheuser-Busch has agreed to donate an additional $10,000 to make the total donation over $27,000. A check presentation by Tilted Kilt president Ron Lynch and Pierre Meric of Anheuser-Busch will take place August 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tilted Kilt located at CityScape in Downtown Phoenix. Tilted Kilt is located at 2 E. Jefferson, Phoenix 85004.

The 2nd annual “Here’s to Heroes” promotion has allowed Tilted Kilt to salute the sacrifices of the more than one million men and women choosing to serve our country in the United States Armed Forces. Customers had the option of donating an additional $1.00 or $5.00 to put their name on a customized paper dog tag that was displayed on the pub walls.

“There is nothing greater than giving back to the men and women who have given so much to their country so that we can enjoy all the freedom we experience on a daily basis,” said Ron Lynch, president of Tilted Kilt. “We’re thrilled to offer this money to such a great cause.”

The Folds of Honor Foundation provides educational scholarships for dependents and families of fallen or disabled service members.

“I know the generous donations from Tilted Kilt and Budweiser will help Folds of Honor provide support to families of U.S. service members,” said Major Dan Rooney, founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation. “Of the approximately 240,000 spouses and dependents of service members killed or wounded as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, 87 percent do not qualify for Veteran’s Administration educational benefits. Folds of Honor fills the gap for these military families by providing scholarships and other educational assistance opportunities.”
