Arizona’s original indoor amusement park, Amazing Jake’s, will soon be Jake’s Unlimited. The popular family entertainment destination is undergoing a major renovation and rebranding, which will debut December 2017. The new Jake’s Unlimited will be in the same expansive location on Gilbert and Baseline roads in Mesa, but with more games, food, drinks, and entertainment than ever before.
“When we opened Amazing Jake’s more than a decade ago, we were way ahead of our time. Once again, we want to raise the bar by upgrading our space and amenities to bring our customers a whole new level of fun,” said Jeremy Hoyum, manager of operations for Jake’s Unlimited. “As the go-to entertainment destination, we’re thrilled to bring the all new Jake’s Unlimited experience to our guests.”
The makeover includes a more energetic atmosphere, dynamic interior design, updated game selection, exciting new attractions, new-and-improved food and beverage offerings, and more event space. Arizona-based A.R. Mays Construction has already begun work on the remodel. The 87,000-square foot building will be transformed with new paint, flooring, lighting, and finishes across the entire space.
Exciting new attractions include a huge dual-level laser tag arena, VIP bowling suites, eight mini bowling lanes, an open-space bumper car arena with the newest bumper cars, a custom-designed carnival-style ride adding to the existing collection of rides, more than 170 arcade games, fun midway games, a full redemption store, and an expanded kid zone.
The beloved all-you-can-eat buffet will be revamped by Jake’s Unlimited’s Executive Chef Scott Nelson, who will also roll out an a la carte menu with new entrées, appetizers, and specialty desserts. There will also be two full bars on property for guests to sip on specialty cocktails, wine or draft beer.
Additionally, Jake’s Unlimited will offer extended hours with Jake’s After Dark. This new adult-only happy hour starts at 8 p.m. every night, after the park closes, so there is no admission fee. The nightly after-hours event will include DJs, food specials, drink specials, and attraction specials.
For birthday parties, group gatherings and corporate events, Jake’s Unlimited can accommodate and cater groups ranging from 10 to 3,000 people. As part of the makeover, four themed dining rooms and eight party rooms of varying sizes will all be renovated. Plus, the massive entertainment destination will boast a new 9,400-square foot event space, designed specifically for larger parties.
In order to create this new and exciting experience for their guests, Jake’s will be closed for construction Monday through Thursday, starting Monday, Aug. 21, but will remain open to the public Friday through Sunday. This construction schedule is slated to continue through September.
