Barter & Shake, the company behind such innovative concepts as Counter Intuitive, Undertow, and Probrecito, is crafting another exciting spot in Arcadia.
The group will soon replace Gino’s East at 3626 E. Indian School Road, as the Chicago pizza venue plans on closing up shop at the end of October.
Scottsdale-based developer SimonCRE, the owner of the 4,431-square-foot property, redeveloped the building in 2016 for Gino’s East and is doing the same for the ever-imaginative Phoenix-based hospitality group founded by Jason Asher and Rich Furnari.
“Barter & Shake has been behind some of the most exciting and creative concepts in the Valley in recent years, so we’re thrilled to be a part of their next venture,” says SimonCRE CEO Joshua Simon. “We think this will be a great fit and form a nice synergy with the surrounding restaurants, retail, and community.”
According to Asher, the location made sense based on the strength of the Arcadia trade area as well as its proximity to the much-successful UnderTow tiki bar, located right next door, beneath Sip Coffee and Beer Garage.
“We’ve found great success in this area with Undertow, and we’re excited about the wonderful character of this building,” says Asher.
Local cocktail enthusiasts will have to wait to learn the name and theme of the new concept, with more details coming soon. Barter & Shake anticipates an opening date of Spring 2019.
