Details: The number one most expensive construction permit of 2017 was a $67.8 million, 800K SF parking garage for Grand Canyon University. The rapidly expanding university has poured millions of dollars into recent developments ranging from student housing to sports arenas. The addition of this five-level parking garage, located at the previously vacant lot at W Missouri and N 29th, will add 2,400 parking spots to the University’s facilities.
2. The Stewart (Phase 2)

Location: 802 N. Central Ave.
Details: This $52.9 million permit covers the second phase of construction for The Stewart, a luxury high-rise apartment building under development at 802 N Central Avenue. The permit covers the remaining construction of floors 8 to 19, as well as a full buildout of the interior architecture.
