BridgeWater Assisted Living, upscale senior living communities that provide low income qualified senior assisted living, recently opened its second location in the Valley where income qualified seniors can receive significant rent reductions and assistance with daily living. BridgeWater Assisted Living Midtown offers 140 apartments in a spacious and airy seven-story community that boasts both a modern and urban feel.
Situated in downtown Phoenix off of Indian School Road on Third Avenue, BridgeWater Assisted Living Midtown offers both assisted living and memory care apartments to aging residents. The care teams utilize a resident-centered approach to caregiving, also incorporating technology and science into the delivery of its care and services.
Each apartment is equipped with proactive technology, Great Call Healthsense™ that expands the level of service to residents, ensuring their health and safety 24/7. This technology is designed to improve wellness outcomes for residents and allows BridgeWater care teams to see behind the door in a manner that is private and non-invasive. For example, sensors in the walls, bed springs, mattresses, doors, and even toilets allow the staff to track regular patterns and movements of residents so the minute one routine is off, the staff can get ahead of the potential issue and assist or alert family. BridgeWater is the first company in Arizona to bring this technology into its communities.
“BridgeWater Assisted Living is a place where I have personally moved in my mom, and our CEO has moved in his grandmother and mother. We have built a home for our aging population that family members can be confident that mom and dad or grandma and grandpa will be comfortable, happy and truly live life to the fullest,” said Greg Corns, chief operating officer for BridgeWater. “The biggest fear that both seniors and their families have is ‘what if I outlive my money?’. We knew to be successful, we had to solve that problem…and we did, through the new federal tax-credit program that provides an affordable living option for older adults. We want to help seniors and families cut through the red tape to find the information they need to afford high quality assisted living.”
To provide its residents affordable assisted living, BridgeWater is a Medicaid ALTCS provider. This Medicaid program, which pays for assisted living, is for those unable to pay for their care themselves, meet income and asset levels and need daily assistance. Veterans eligible for Wartime Pension may also qualify for supplemental aid & attendance benefits. This program is available to both veterans and widowed spouses of the veteran, and pays for assisted care.
Corns said that every BridgeWater community has a designated Community Benefits Advocate available to explain to families how they can qualify for financial resources and to help them through their specific situation.
BridgeWater Assisted Living Midtown affords easy access to downtown, shopping, sporting events, doctors’ offices, hospitals, and much more. From one of the many rooftop patios or decks, residents and guests will enjoy serene mountain views surrounded by the lively downtown activity. Inside, the community features charming décor with fine furnishings featuring local art and many other elements reminiscent of historical Phoenix. The common areas are complete with an activity area, library, theater, and meeting rooms. Residents will enjoy three meals a day in the community dining room, meet a friend for coffee in the bistro, relax and view a movie in the theater room, engage in an art, cooking or yoga class, or take the community shuttle off property and enjoy all that Phoenix has to offer.
In addition to assisted living, BridgeWater’s care teams employ proactive approaches to support residents experiencing cognitive decline through its science-based memory care program called Equilibrium®. Equilibrium enables care teams to improve the quality of life for residents, measuring results to promote positive health and wellness outcomes.
