McCarthy Building Companies Inc. recently promoted Joe Brunsman to project director within the Southwest division.
In this position, Brunsman will forge true collaborations with the owners, design teams and subcontractors; serve as a liaison between the office and field teams; champion job-site safety efforts and proactively manage project budgets and schedules. He previously served as project manager.
Brunsman joined McCarthy in 2008 as a project manager and has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He most recently led the project team on the McCarthy-Kiewit JV Phoenix Sky Train project connecting Terminal 4 to Terminal 3, and has a keen understanding of Sky Harbor’s operations. He has also worked on other significant construction projects including Rust Medical Center in New Mexico as well as working in estimating and preconstruction departments.

Brunsman has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Arizona StateUniversity. He is also a LEED AP BD+C.
