GetFileAttachment-7McCarthy Building Companies Inc. recently promoted Justin Dent to Vice President of Operations for the Southwest division, where he will be overseeing commercial construction projects in both Arizona and New Mexico.

Prior to this position, Dent served as project director at McCarthy for the past four years. He joined McCarthy in 1999 as a project engineer after graduating college. He has a diverse project background; two of his early projects included the Sandia Casino in Albuquerque and Motorola Buildings 93 and 99 in Tempe, Ariz. In 2002, he was promoted to project manager where he oversaw numerous projects including Hayden Ferry Lakeside Phase II Parking Structure, Arizona State Behavioral Health Hospital, the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center lobby, tower and surgery expansions and numerous projects at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. He has also completed numerous education-related projects for K-12 schools.

“Justin has proven his leadership capabilities over the course of his 16-year career with McCarthy,” said Justin Kelton, executive vice president at McCarthy. “His strong project management background, and his respect and discipline to McCarthy’s team approach to construction, has enabled him to build strong client relations, which ultimately lead to successful projects.”

Dent has a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University. He is a member of the Arizona Builders Alliance, the Western Maricopa Coalition (WESTMARC) and the Central Arizona Society of Healthcare Engineers (CASHE). He is also a member of the local American Heart Association’s Executive Leadership team.
