Mountain Park Health Center has broken ground on the Gateway Clinic, which will be located at the corner of 40th Street and Van Buren (3838 East Van Buren.) The new clinic, designed by SmithGroupJJR and slated to open to the public in early fall of 2014, will bring affordable healthcare to 36,000 Phoenix residents.

The clinic, which will be housed in nearly 30,000 square feet, will cost $10-$13M to build and includes pediatric, women’s health and family medicine exam rooms; classroom space, a demonstration kitchen and a playground for the community. The project development includes re-purposing one of two existing buildings with an eye towards collaborative reuse, development of green space, shade and connectivity to transit.

“Our vision of bringing affordable healthcare services to the important downtown Phoenix population is one step closer to becoming a reality with our recent groundbreaking,” said Michelle Hernandez, Communications Director.

At its core, the new Mountain Park Gateway clinic will provide access to affordable healthcare for families living in the surrounding neighborhoods. The clinic will specialize in Family Medicine, Pediatrics and Women’s Health.

Mountain Park Health Center has a long history of providing quality healthcare and services to communities across the Valley. The new clinic not only continues this mission, but also will bring valuable educational opportunities and community space to enhance the lives of patients and neighbors.
