Fortune magazine named PCL Construction to its “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for the 11th consecutive year. PCL, a top general contractor in North America, moved seven spots to rank at number 60 on the list this year.

“We’re proud to be named, once again, as an employer of choice by Fortune magazine,” said Mike McKinney, Tempe district manager. “It’s because of PCL employees, culture, and our passion for building that we’re able to stand out year after year and celebrate this honor.”

PCL has consecutively made Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list since 2005 because of the organization’s employee-ownership model, dynamic culture, wellness initiatives and philanthropic efforts. Beyond offering a comprehensive benefits package and professional development programs, PCL encourages employees to achieve a work-life balance by offering a flexible working schedule, gym reimbursement, and employee wellness programs, along with the opportunity to attend events and celebrations throughout the year.

“To be named to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for 11 years is an accomplishment we’re extremely proud of and true testament to the culture of PCL,” said Shaun Yancey, president and COO of US Operations. “At PCL, we’re passionate about the work we do as well as ensuring all employees have the resources needed to build upon their future.”

Two-thirds of a company’s survey score is based on the results of the Trust Index Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company.

This survey asks questions related to employees’ attitudes about management’s credibility, overall job satisfaction and camaraderie.

The other third is based on responses to the Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs, and diversity efforts.
