Bob Mulhern

Bob Mulhern

Managing director and Arizona market leader

Transwestern

Background: Mulhern’s real estate career began in land development and has since included leadership roles in property management, development, brokerage and brokerage management. Beyond commercial real estate, he and his wife helped start Great Hearts Academies in 2002.

Key to success: “Learning that the essence of leadership is virtue and character in action has allowed me to combine magnanimity and humility to attract and retain talented colleagues.”

Source of pride: “I am honored to have been recognized with NAIOP AZ’s Lifetime Achievement Award for my commercial real estate accomplishments and to be appointed a Trustee of ASU for my contributions to the university over the years”

Surprising fact: “Besides having nine children and a dozen grandchildren (so far!) Tina and I both came from large Catholic families and have 17 brothers and sisters between us! “

Bryce Terveen

Bryce Terveen

Executive managing director and brokerage market leader for Arizona

Colliers

Background: In his role, Terveen leads all brokerage operations across the firm’s Phoenix and Scottsdale offices. He is responsible for guiding the region’s strategic growth, overseeing business development and cultivating a high-performance culture among professionals and staff.

Source of pride: “Our industry tends to measure itself in terms of transactions and I am very proud of many significant ones in my career. But earning the respect of my peers is my greatest point of pride. At its core, this is a relationship-driven business. Providing the highest quality of work for clients and earning acknowledgement from colleagues of that achievement is very rewarding.”

Key to success: “Work ethic, resilience and having my priorities straight. You have to know why you get up each morning, outwork your peers and prioritize what is most important to your success. When your work vision is clear and you are putting in the effort to achieve it, typically good results come. Sometimes they don’t come as quickly as you hope — and that’s where the resilience comes in.”

Surprising fact: “Folks might be surprised that I played professional baseball for the Braves and Mariners in their farm system.”

Executive managing director and local market leader

Newmark

Source of pride: “Watching our office grow and nurturing a spirit of cohesiveness among our brokers and staff has been incredibly rewarding. Creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed is, to me, the most meaningful achievement of my career.”

Key to success: “Surrounding myself with great people — clients, colleagues and mentors. I place a high value on listening to others and learning from their experiences, and I make a point to stay curious through avid reading. Helping others realize their potential is genuinely rewarding, but above all, the steady love and support of my family has been the biggest key to my success.”
