Doyle is a land use and zoning attorney at Tiffany & Bosco and Joffe is a real estate agent at The Joffe Group. Active members in the club, both say they were eager to take on the Olympiad leadership positions. Doyle is chairing the Brokers for Kids (BFK) division of the event, which includes teams of commercial real estate professionals. Joffe is chairing the Agents Benefiting Children (ABC) division of the event, which includes teams of residential real estate professionals.
“The Olympiad event takes place in April,” says Doyle, “but the fundraising actually begins months in advance of the event. We held our Olympiad kickoff meeting in January, and our teams have already been working hard to raise funds for children’s charities through sponsorship sales, raffle ticket sales, and other pre-Olympiad fundraising efforts.”
“Last year, The Saguaros awarded nearly $1.3 million in grant funding to 48 nonprofits serving Arizona’s children,” says Joffe. “We hope to surpass that number this year.”
About The Olympiad
Hosted annually at Scottsdale Stadium, The Olympiad, dating back to 1999, brings together leaders from both the commercial and residential real estate industries to compete in a combination of fundraising and athletic challenges. Featuring a residential division called Agents Benefiting Children, and the commercial division is known as Brokers For Kids, teams from participating companies fundraise for children’s charities by selling sponsorships leading up to the event. At the Olympiad, the top fundraising team for Agents Benefiting Children will take home the Captain’s Cup, while the winner of the Broker’s for Kids division wields the Broker’s Cup. Plus, participating teams also compete in lawn games, including pop-a-shot, cornhole, trash can beer pong and dodgeball, for an opportunity to be crowned the Olympiad Champion and hoist the Saguaros Cup. The Olympiad also includes a poker tournament and gala, Cards For Kids, on March 25th, 2023 at Scottsdale Hangar one. Tickets and sponsorships for Cards For Kids can be purchased at Saguaros.com.
About The Saguaros
Founded in 1987, the philanthropic and social club known today as the Saguaros has raised millions of dollars for local Arizona non-profit organizations. Composed of up to 50 young men under the age of 40, we proudly give back to the community and support children’s charities through our three main fundraising events: NiteFlite and the Olympiad (Brokers for Kids, Agents Benefiting Children, and Cards for Kids). Most importantly, the Saguaros is unique among service organizations in that it not only raises money for children’s charities, but also encourages “hands on” interaction with the children the club supports. This active participation serves to strengthen relationships with those it serves and create a true partnership with its charity partners. Plus, thanks to our dedicated charitable foundation, all proceeds from Saguaros’ fundraising activities are funneled directly to 501 (c)(3) foundation,
