SkySong 4 is closing in on completion, with a key construction milestone being marked in a ceremony tomorrow.
SkySong 4 is “topped out,” meaning the structural steel in the construction building has reached the building’s final height.
The SkySong 4 construction team will celebrate the milestone at a “Topping Out Party,” to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31 at the front of the building facing SkySong Boulevard and Scottsdale Road. Members of the media are invited to attend, and are asked to check in at the DPR Construction trailer for safety reasons.
The construction of SkySong 4 has gone extremely smoothly during the winter and spring months, and the topping out comes after just 4 1/2 months of construction. The building is scheduled to open in the summer or fall of 2016.
“SkySong 4 will continue the tradition of dynamic design, green construction and innovative features the project as a whole has become known for,” said Sharon Harper, President & CEO of Plaza Companies, the master developer of the project. “We are very pleased with the work done by DPR Construction and its subcontractors in creating a new building that will further enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation at SkySong.”
“We are very pleased with the progress on SkySong 4,” said Don Couvillion, Vice President of Real Estate for The ASU Foundation. “The team of Plaza and DPR have accomplished the topping out in record time, and we are also excited by the leasing activity we have seen for SkySong 4. The market has responded favorably to the unique character of SkySong’s live work play environment.”
The 150,000 square foot building will be located along SkySong Boulevard at the corner with Scottsdale Road. Several new tenants are in negotiation, with significant new lease announcements pending. SkySong 4 has approximately 50,000 square feet available and Lee and Associates, SkySong’s commercial real estate broker, is working with prospective companies and tenants.
