Well known for her acting roles in now iconic movies such as “Pretty in Pink” and “Sixteen Candles,” multifaceted performing artist and bestselling author Molly Ringwald will give a special cabaret performance for Mesa Arts Center Foundation’s annual fundraising gala on Feb. 14, in Mesa Arts Center’s Piper Theater. A Hearty Arty Valentine Affair will raise funds for Mesa Arts Center’s arts education and outreach programs, which captivated the imaginations of over 41,392 students at over 215 schools throughout greater Phoenix. Tickets are available for $150 through Mesa Arts Center’s Box Office, at MesaArtsCenter.com or by calling 480-644-6500.

The arty and elegant event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14, with a buffet reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a 7:30 p.m. performance by Ms. Ringwald. In addition to the performance, tickets to the gala also include a dessert reception with a meet and greet with Ms. Ringwald.

An actress, singer, dancer and author, Ringwald is perhaps best known for her acting roles in film and television, most recently in ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Lifetime’s Wishin’ and Hopin’. But in the 2010s Ringwald transitioned to singing, and in early 2013, she released Except Sometimes, a jazz record that follows a family tradition in jazz set by her father. Ringwald’s book, Getting the Pretty Back: Friendship, Family, and Finding the Perfect Lipstick, has been on both the Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times’ Best Seller Lists.
Art enthusiasts, supporters of Mesa Arts Center, civic and business leaders are encouraged to attend the event for an unforgettable and charitable evening of delicious food and stellar entertainment.
