Most of us know Bob Parsons as the founder of GoDaddy, the industry’s leading web hosting site, or the mastermind behind of some of Arizona’s biggest parties in history; but there’s a side to him not everyone may know about — he loves motorcycles.

Bob's Biker Blast 2012

Parsons will kick off the first annual Bob’s Biker Blast on October 20 at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale and Go AZ Motorcycles from 10 a.m. to midnight. It’s projected to attract thousands of attendees, making it one of the biggest biker events to date.

Parsons is an avid motorcycle rider and is using the event to promote the grand opening of Go AZ Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale Training Facility.

The must-see spectacles of the day, though, are public demonstrations of the first-ever, commercial application of a motorcycle simulator Bob's Biker Blastthat was originally created for the U.S. military. It allows a rider to feel what it’s like to actually ride a motorcycle all within the safety of the simulator.

“If you have never ridden a motorcycle before, this is your chance to get a really good idea of what it’s like without actually getting on a moving bike,” Parsons says in a press release. “You won’t find a motorcycle simulator like this outside of a few military bases.”

The all-day event includes live music, food and a variety of activities. Concert gates will open at 4 p.m. starting with a Fear No Ice Thrill Show followed by a concert featuring 38 Special and George Thorogood. Tommy Flanagan, who currently plays “Chibs” from Sons of Anarchy, will also make an appearance from noon to 7 p.m.

Admission is free to all riders with a motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license and is good for the rider plus one guest. There is a $20 fee for all others that will be donated directly to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
