William Haug of Jennings Haug & Cunningham was named a recipient of the Legacy Award, presented by the Arizona Surety Association.
Haug is one of just four recipients to receive the award since its inception in 2007. The Legacy Award, which is awarded by the association’s executive committee only when a nominated individual is deemed to be deserving, recognizes surety professionals for their career-long commitment to the industry, and for their leadership role in assisting the Arizona Surety Association with accomplishing its goals and objectives, while supporting the advancement of the surety industry.
Haug, who joined Jennings Haug & Cunningham in 1981, was recognized for his leadership role in establishing and advancing surety and construction law in Arizona. In addition, serving as national bond counsel for a major surety company and overseeing its claims throughout the U.S., earned him this substantial surety industry recognition.
Haug’s practice is focused in complex dispute resolution in construction, fidelity and surety law. For more than 35 years, he has been an arbitrator and mediator, and has been professionally recognized in his field with numerous awards, including the Maricopa Bar Association’s Hall of Fame.
The Arizona Surety Association recognizes individuals whom have focused a major part of their career dealing with the surety industry, either as a surety company employee, or an individual in a related field.
