Skanska USA announced a new location for its building business unit in Metro Phoenix, the hiring of a business development director and several Phoenix office leadership promotions.
Skanska, which is active in both the building and civil construction markets, has moved its building operations to 4742 N. 24th St. in Phoenix, just south of Camelback Road. Skanska’s civil construction unit is still located in Peoria.
Skanska also announced the hiring of Kimberley Shapiro as senior director of business development for its Arizona building operations. Shapiro has significant experience within the AEC industries in the region, most recently as director of business development with HDR Architecture.
She supports an existing operations team that has significant experience in high-tech, higher education, K-12, aviation and healthcare construction.
Additionally, two key members of Skanska’s Arizona operations team have been promoted. Robert Cortazzo has been named Arizona Manager for Skanska Building USA while Kevin Devlin has been promoted to Project Executive, managing Skanska’s industrial/manufacturing work within the region.
“We believe there are significant opportunities in the market and that we have the team to pursue them,” said Ross Vroman, executive vice president of Skanska USA Building.
