About one third of new scuba divers are women – What better way to cater to the growing population than a girls only scuba club?

When deep sea adventurers enter the “silent world” of the water, they can’t help but feel a sense of peace and amazement at the below sea level wonders. Scuba Professionals of Arizona, which is co-owned by a woman, is aiming to open up to this growing diving population.

Girls Club will be open to all women and the first meeting will be held in Peoria on April 4, at 6:30 p.m. Scuba Professionals of Arizona will also organize classes and trips for the women who participate.

Fia Lindberg, co-owner Scuba Professionals of Arizona explains, “Like a ‘Girls’ Night Out’ or a ‘Girls’ Trip’ our ‘Girls Club’ by Scuba Professionals of Arizona is a great way to meet new friends, get certified together and go on great underwater adventures whether to a nearby lake, a weekend trip to California or a dream vacation to the Bahamas, Cozumel or Fiji. We also want women to feel comfortable. Scuba is still a male dominated sport, so by having a class for women, taught by women, we feel it makes for a more comfortable, less-intimidating environment.”

Girls Club caters to women at all skill levels of diving and allows for participants to progress safely and practice new skills in open water.

Scuba Professionals of Arizona just opened in this past September and is considered the most modern and state-of-the-art scuba facility in the state. With a 13-feet deep pool and an underwater camera, divers will be able to feel as though they are in open water and get to see themselves having fun.

In addition to Girls Club, the Scuba Professionals of Arizona hold swimming lessons, children’s scuba classes, an advanced scuba program and group dive trips.
