A crowd of more than 400 people packed the Chateau Luxe in Phoenix Thursday to honor the 40 companies who were named Arizona’s Most Admired Companies for 2015.
“When developing the Most Admired Companies program, the primary goal of Az Business magazine and our partner, BestCompaniesAZ, was to recognize those companies that excel in workplace culture, social responsibility, customer opinion, innovation and leadership excellence,” said Cheryl Green, publisher of AZ Big Media. “Those are the characteristics that help build great companies. And those are the qualities that embody all 40 MAC winners.”

The Most Admired Companies program is put together by Az Business magazine and BestCompaniesAZ. With about 100 nominations representing the most innovative and successful companies in Arizona, being one of 40 winners shows that the companies honored truly represents the best in Arizona.
Five companies earned spotlight awards for excellence in one of the primary MAC characteristics:
Social responsibility: AXA Southwest Advisors
Customer opinion: Musical Instrument Museum
Innovation: Charles Schwab
Workplace culture: CBRE
Leadership excellence: Banner Casa Grande Medical Center
In addition, seven companies were recognized Thursday as six-time MAC winners. Those companies are American Express, CBRE, Infusionsoft, Shutterfly, Sonora Quest Laboratories, Sundt and UnitedHealthcare of Arizona.
“Michael Jordan won six NBA titles and is regarded by many as the greatest basketball player of all time,” said Michael Gossie, editor in chief for Az Business magazine. “Companies who have been able to earn six MAC awards show an exceptional level of resilience, leadership, adaptability and sustained excellence. They are the Michael Jordans of Arizona’s business community.”
