The CORE Institute expands Into Louisiana

The CORE Institute®, powered by Excellence Headquarters®, announced its expansion into the Louisiana market by partnering with the world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and specialists at Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists in Lafayette, Louisiana. The practice will be renamed The CORE Institute at Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists.

“This partnership marks the continued opportunity for The CORE Institute to expand and implement our Excellence through Evidence® platform throughout the Southeastern United States. The CORE Institute made their first expansion into Michigan with Porretta Center for Orthopedic Surgery in 2013. Since expanding, The CORE Institute – Michigan has expanded into Brighton and Grand Blanc. Since its inception in 2005, The CORE Institute has grown to over 150 care providers and more than 700 employees. Its growth has been built on a platform of evidence-based medicine and meticulous outcomes tracking managed by a proprietary IT platform.

Dr. Clifford Jones joins The CORE Institute

The CORE Institute, powered by Excellence Headquarters®, will be adding the nationally acclaimed orthopedic trauma surgeon Clifford B. Jones, MD, FACS, who specializes in Trauma, Bone Health and Osteoporosis, adult and pediatric fracture care, infections, osteomyelitis, amputations, nonunions, malunions, pelvic fractures, acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, spine problems, and foot and ankle trauma. He will care for patients in both The CORE Institute’s Arizona and Michigan clinics, allowing him to continue to treat his Michigan patients.

As a popular lecturer whose research has appeared in several highly regarded medical journals, Dr. Jones won an Achievement Award from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons from 2012-15 for his contributions to education, research, and advocacy in orthopedics. Orthopedics This Week named him a Top U.S. Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon in 2012. In 2008, he also was a Distinguished Visiting Professor, at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, who was involved with education of the Military Surgeons and operating on our Wounded Warriors.

Arizona Multihousing Association Career and Job Fair

Arizona’s largest orthopedic and neurology practice, The CORE Institute powered by Excellence Headquarters, is holding a job fair on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm to fill open positions in the Contact Center.

The job fair will be held at The CORE Institute’s headquarters facility at 18444 N. 25th Ave., Suite 320, Phoenix, AZ 85023. No advance registration is required.  Job seekers are required to bring resumes and should be prepared for on-site interviews. Applicants are encouraged to dress for success.
 
Among the full-time positions to be filled for the Contact Center include Patient Care Coordinators for various shifts. A Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for answering incoming calls from patients/customers to schedule appointments, answer questions, handle concerns, troubleshoot problems and provide information.  Experience requirements are a minimum of one year Contact Center or Phone Customer Service experience, with one year medical scheduling background preferred.

Excellence Headquarters, the management company for The CORE Institute, announced the promotion of Allison Vasconcellos to Vice President of Marketing, Branding and Communications.

Vasconcellos joined The CORE Institute in 2007. She brings her extensive marketing experience that includes marketing and advertising strategy with significant experience in patient acquisition, market share growth, web and online advertising development tactics and launching of coordinated initiatives with the use of outdoor, direct mail, print, web, TV and radio, as well as corporate affiliate marketing and promotional partnerships.

In 2013, Vasconcellos was named a Finalist for Marketer of the Year by the Phoenix Business Journal and Business Marketing Association of Phoenix in the Large Size Business category for marketing excellence. She has earned some of the highest awards available within The CORE Institute, including the Chairman’s and Firefly Awards.

An Arizona native, Vasconcellos received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and MBA from Grand Canyon University. She is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD).

Excellence Headquarters™, Management Company for The CORE Institute®, announced that Peter J. Slate, a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in all aspects operations, finance and business development, has accepted the position of Chief Business Development Officer.

“Peter will play an important role as we continue to pursue the national expansion of our best-in-class care and services,” said Dr. David J. Jacofsky, Chairman and CEO of Excellence Headquarters. “We are thrilled to add his experience and business development expertise to our leadership team.”

Prior to joining Excellence Headquarters, Mr. Slate was the U.S. Managing Director of ElMindA, Ltd., a neuro-technology company based in Tel Aviv, Israel that developed a novel technology for the diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders. Prior to ElMindA, Mr. Slate was the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bonovo Orthopedics, Inc., a leading international provider of orthopedic products with offices in the U.S., Europe and throughout China.

Mr. Slate also founded and served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DragonTech International, a leading designer and manufacturer of protective work wear to Fortune 500 companies. In addition, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Arizona Technology Enterprises (AzTE), a company dedicated to creating medical device and technology-based start-ups from innovations developed at Arizona State University and related research institutes. He practiced as a corporate attorney with the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, securities and private equity transactions. Mr. Slate has also held senior positions with Baxter International Inc. and Primecare International, Inc., a physician practice management company. He serves on a number of corporate and non-profit Boards, including Bonovo Orthopedics, Inc. and BioAccel, an Arizona-based bioscience company accelerator.

Excellence Headquarters™, Management Company for The CORE Institute® and other physician practices, announced that Paul Robinson has accepted the position of Chief Information Officer, providing vision and leadership in all information technology initiatives. In his role, Robinson and his team of programmers and IT architects will direct the planning and implementation of enterprise information technology systems in support of The CORE Institute’s business operations as the orthopedic group continues to grow nationally.

“Paul will play an important role in ensuring that our providers and employees utilize the best technology systems available to provide to our managed practices and their patients with best-in-class care and services,” said Dr. David J. Jacofsky, Chairman and CEO of Excellence Headquarters.  “Adding someone with Paul’s team’s experience and talent to our leadership team demonstrates our commitment to our providers, employees and patients as we continue to pursue our national expansion efforts.

Prior to joining Excellence Headquarters, Robinson spent 20+ years in information technology roles, specifically designing and developing software to meet healthcare needs.  Most recently, as Vice President of Product and Software Development at PhDx Systems, he helped in the company becoming the leading provider of clinical data management software and services designed to meet the unique research needs of orthopedic and spine companies. Robinson played an instrumental role in the development of clinical management software for device manufacturers such as Medtronic, Stryker and NuVasive.
