The Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale is full of many beautiful cars. It’s stunning to see the amount of beautiful cars all close together.
While we were walking around during the 2017 auction, we spied some beautiful and unique cars that stood out from the rest:
1955 Chrysler Ghia Streamline X “Gilda”
This car is a one-off creation, that is turbine-powered and is based off of aerodynamic designs that auto-makers were striving to perfect at the time. The car is named after the character Rita Hayworth played in the 1946 film, “Gilda.”
John Lennon’s 1956 Austin Princess
This car was formerly owned by the famous Beatle, John Lennon, and was featured in the 1972 documentary “Imagine.”
1986 Ferrari Testarossa “Miami Vice Car”
Here is the iconic Ferrari driven by Crocket and Tubb until the hit series ended in 1989. The car was retired at the show’s end and was in storage from 1990 to 2015. It only has 16,500 miles on it.
1933 12-Cylinder Auburn
This convertible phaeton sedan is an original car with a limousine body. Auburns were manufactured in Indiana, a true classic.
1956 DeSoto Convertible Indy 500 Pace Car
This is one of the only 100 Indy Pace Cars DeSoto produced. The car won over eight national awards, including Best of Show and People’s Choice at the Chrysler Nationals. And the car was the Pace Car at Indianapolis 500 Mile Race on May 30, 1956.
1970 Plymouth Superbird
Based off of a modified Road Runner coupe, the power-blue Superbird was designed to race with NASCAR. The car’s high rear spoiler is a thing of beauty with decals of the Road Runner from the Looney Tunes on it.
1940 Ford Deluxe Custom Convertible
An all-steel car featuring a black leather interior is a thing of classical beauty. Many of these cars are known for being a great pick for hot rods.
1972 De Tomaso Pantera
This Italian car is a classic that Ford started importing into the U.S. in late 1971. Ford later stopped importing these cars in 1975, having sold around 5,500 of these cars.
1958 BMW Isetta 300
Known as a “bubble car” this microcar was Italian-designed and manufactured by BMW. It includes a sun roof on the top and has a unique front opening door.
1981 DeLorean DMC-12
This specific car (popularized by the classic “Back to the Future” films) has been kept in prime condition since the day it was bought. All four of the tires on the car are the same from when the day it was built too.
