Construction on the city’s $4M welcome center will finish winter 2009. The facility, comprised of structural steel framing with a glass-walled hangar area, will house the Aeronca airplane and the Buick that put Yuma on the map back in the 1940s. The remainder of the development includes a museum area, control tower and off-site improvements on 3.5 acres.
