Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine

Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine campus extension

Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) broke ground Jan. 8 on a new 47KSF mixed-use building. The $9.5M campus expansion supports the college’s record enrollment numbers, growing patient volume in the medical center and plans to add new degree programs and community classes to match the growing interest in naturopathic medicine. The campus expansion will provide space for a larger library, more group and individual study spaces, a café, exercise space and updated classrooms to support lecture and team-based learning. Additionally, SCNM will explore new frontiers in naturopathic medicine with an integrative regenerative healing center for the treatment of pain and a demonstration kitchen for patient and community education.

RED AWARDS 2014: Best Retail Project

On Feb. 26, AZRE hosted the 9th Annual RED Awards reception at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix to recognize the most notable commercial real estate projects of 2013 and the construction teams involved. scottsdale_entertainment_districtNow the heart of Old Town, the Scottsdale Entertainment District started out as several older structures spread out over 57,000 SF of land. In 2012, Triyar Companies and LGE Design Build united with the goal of redeveloping the block into a multi-user bar and restaurant district that would service residents and tourists. The space now consists of five noteworthy tenants, including The Derby, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, Hi-Fi Kitchen & Cocktails and Maya Day and Nightclub. Energy efficient components include 1-inch dual plane insulated glass, LED lighting and R-8 value roofing. Not only did the redevelopment finish on time and 100 percent leased by completition, it completely changed its surrounding area and dramatically increased the rent price of surrounding office space.

LGE Design Build Completes Renovation of Popular Phoenix Restaurant

LGE Design Build recently completed a restaurant renovation for Lolo’s Chicken & Waffles, the popular Downtown Phoenix eatery at the NWC of Central Ave. and Yuma.

This 4,240 SF project was completed on time and under budget. The owneris White Girls LLC and the architect was Cawley.

The original building was built in 1927, and many of its historic qualities were preserved. As part of the renovation, seating capacity tripled in size with rooms for private parties.

Lolo’s remained open for business throughout the construction.

Adelante Healthcare to Open LEED Platinum Health Center in East Valley

 

Adelante Healthcare, a provider of sustainable healthcare for patients throughout the Valley,  opens its seventh location, 1705 W. Main Street in Mesa on Nov. 2.

The site is slated for LEED Platinum certification. and will host a scheduled tour stop for the national Health Design Conference on Nov. 3, hosting architects, engineers and designers who look to the space as a forerunner in healthcare facility design.

LGE Design Build is the general contractor and the architectural firm is Cawley Architects.

The new facility uses earth-friendly design elements such as low-VOC paint, recycled materials, energy-saving technologies, responsible waste disposal, green-living outreach and education. Patients will also find light-filled spaces in vibrant colors, smaller living room-style waiting areas, healing art, positive distractions, and interactive activities throughout the center.

“We are ecstatic to announce the opening of our brand new health center in Mesa,” said Avein Saaty-Tafoya, CEO of Adelante Healthcare. “This facility will not only provide high quality primary and preventive health services to individuals throughout the East Valley, it will also be a community meeting resource, provide nutritionists, a pharmacy, and lab all within a peaceful, welcoming environment, open to all.”

Adelante Healthcare Mesa will provide family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, internal medicine, and dental care. It will also have a healthy café in its lobby offering a full coffee bar and grab-and-go items for breakfast and lunch. The new location will replace the current health center practice now operating at 2204 S. Dobson Road, Suite 101.

“Our new site is slated for LEED Platinum interiors certification, the first community health center in the nation to achieve this designation. It’s also the first comprehensive health center on the Metro Light Rail,” Saaty-Tafoya said.

“We have incorporated design researched to create a healing environment. This is a truly specially built environment of care that will transform how patients access services and will improve patients’ experience.”

The lease for Adelante Healthcare Mesa was negotiated by Aaron Kuhl of Medical Office Brokers.

RED Awards 2012: Best Redevelopment Project, Adelante Healthcare Surprise

On March 1, AZRE hosted the 7th Annual RED Awards reception at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix to recognize the most notable commercial real estate projects of 2011 and the construction teams involved. AZRE held an open call for nominations and a record 116 projects were submitted by architects, contractors, developers and brokerage firms in Arizona. Adelante HealthcareA once-vacant project known as Bell Road Plaza, this collection of three frontage retail buildings and one office building was redeveloped and transformed into Adelante Healthcare. In less than nine months, LGE Design Build and Cawley Architects expanded 12,000 SF to accommodate 30,000 SF of contiguous space. The healthcare facility includes 28 exam rooms, specialty waiting rooms, wood look-alike VCT floors and a central break cafe. To maintain energy efficiency, Adelante includes 14 seer HVAC and a 1-inch foam roof to the current building. The project was 100% vacant and being sold through bankruptcy. Thanks to the project’s innovative team, Adelante Healthcare has the capacity and resources to provide medical assistance to the residents of Surprise.
