YUMA WELCOME CENTER
Developer: City of Yuma
Construction on the city’s $4M welcome center will finish winter 2009. The facility, comprised of structural steel framing with a glass-walled hangar area, will house the Aeronca airplane and the Buick that put Yuma on the map back in the 1940s. The remainder of the development includes a museum area, control tower and off-site improvements on 3.5 acres.
THE VUE ON APACHE
Developer: Campus Acquisitions
A $30M mixed-use development of ground-floor retail and multi-family apartments near Apache and Rural roads. Construction began April 2008, with a scheduled completion of August 2009. Subs include Riggs Construction, Secon, JFN Mechanical, Fidelity Mechanical, Brothers, Arc Steel and Greco Railings.
TALKING STICK RESORT
Developer: Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community
The $107M development will include a 3-story building dedicated to outpatient services. The center will treat inpatients on two floors inside Banner Gateway Medical Center, which was built in 2007. Construction on the cancer center began December 2009, with completion scheduled for fall 2011.
THE GODDARD SCHOOL & RETAIL CENTER
Developer: Don Bennett Partners
The $1.67M, 1.68-acre site broke ground in January. The 8,068 SF educational center will be the first Goddard School in the West Valley. In addition to the school, a 5,798 SF retail center is being developed. Estimated completion for the project is 3Q09. Brokerage firm is Don Bennett & Associates.
PIVOT POINT HILTON GARDEN INN & CONFERENCE CENTER
Developer: C.W. Clark Inc
The $18.2M development includes an 85,000 SF, 3-story, 150-room hotel and a 25,000 SF conference center. Construction will finish 1Q09. Subs include Bill Toms Construction, Buena Vista Plumbing, Desert Commercial Builders, Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corp. and Western Fire Protection.
THE FALLS AT OAK CREEK
Developer: Campbell Family Trust
A $42.5M development comprised of 47 luxury condos across five buildings, 2- or 3-stories in height. Construction is estimated to begin 1Q10, with an estimated completion of 3Q10. Brokerage firm is Transwestern Investment Services Group.
FLAGSTAFF COURTYARD MARRIOTT
Developer: The Summit Group
Construction on the $11.4M Flagstaff Marriott began August 2008. Subs include AEC Electric, Hardrock Concrete, Pyramid Plumbing, Loftco Framing, Encore Steel, Warner’s Landscaping, Ignace Brothers Drywall and Otis Elevator. Construction is scheduled to finish July 2009.
GATEWAY COMMERCIAL BANK
Developer: Mike & Trudy Licano
The $2.25M bank development broke ground in December 2008. Gateway will occupy 5,700 SF on the ground floor of the building, with plans to add several jobs at the new headquarters. Construction is scheduled to finish September 2009.
SHOW LOW PUBLIC LIBRARY
Owner: City of Show Low
The $3.8M project includes a public library with city council chambers and a local TV studio. Construction is scheduled to begin March 2009, with a scheduled completion of December 2009.
DESERT FOOTHILLS YMCA & COMMUNITY CENTER
Owner: Valley of the Sun YMCA/Maricopa County College District
The Desert Foothills YMCA is 10.45-acre campus that consists of three components: a 27,842 SF YMCA facility, a 20,513 SF community center and a new Paradise Valley Community College facility, which will be operated by the Maricopa County Community College District. Construction on the $8.8M development began 4Q08, and will finish 3Q09.
