Across the country, suburban areas are becoming dynamic centers of change, new cultural activity and economic growth.
What do the Valley’s suburban municipalities have to offer? That and other questions will be answered as ULI Arizona explores the essential strategies and lessons learned for transforming suburban communities into compact, walkable, hip places at its next Main Program.
Case Studies: Evolution of the Suburban Core is scheduled for Sept. 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, 4949 E. Lincoln Dr., Scottsdale.
Suburban areas to be discussed include the Gilbert Heritage District’s 30-year “overnight success story;” how Mesa is leveraging light rail, arts and education in its downtown; and how communities such as Buckeye’s Verrado, Scottsdale’s DC Ranch, Chandler’s new Veridian project and others are envisioned and brought forth.
Public and private sector leaders who are at the forefront reinventing suburban areas and developing mixed-use entertainment, living and working hubs will share key insights into how to put the pieces in place for success and plan for the future.
